Christopher Tom
Of Counsel
Christopher Tom is Of Counsel with the firm’s Litigation Group. Christopher’s practice focuses primarily on intellectual property enforcement and commercial litigation.
He has substantial experience representing Fortune 500 companies and small businesses in high-stakes litigation in state and federal court. He has represented media outlets and credit card companies in multi-state antitrust litigation, numerous clients in multi-million contractual and business tort disputes, and has represented a large financial institution in a multi-billion bankruptcy litigation, which resulted in a four-month trial. Beyond his litigation work, Chris also has experience with internal investigations and regulatory proceedings. Chris also has enjoyed a robust pro bono practice, which has included representing clients in housing and immigration matters.Prior to joining Thoits Law, Chris practiced at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison for seven years, where he was an associate in the litigation department. His prior experience also includes several years with a boutique litigation firm in New Jersey where he specialized in commercial litigation, toxic tort claims, and insurance matters.
Chris received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law, magna cum laude, where he was an editor of Boston University Law Review. He received his B.A. from Williams College, cum laude. Prior to attending law school, he worked at a Harlem-based education program for four years.
Chris is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
