Terry has been with Thoits,
Love, Hershberger & McLean since his graduation from Santa Clara
University Law School in 1979. As a shareholder of the firm and head
of its Business
Group, his practice includes forming, structuring and advising
corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and joint
ventures in matters such as seed and early round equity funding, compensation
incentive plans and management and governance issues, as well as representing
creditors and debtors in financing transactions, sellers and buyers
in business acquisitions, mergers and sales, and structuring, negotiating
and preparing licenses and other contracts and agreements involving
intellectual property, including systems and information technologies.
Terry is a director of Achievekids,
a nonprofit organization serving families with children facing severe
developmental challenges, and serves on the Board’s management
committee, and a director and 2004 President of the Palo
Alto Fund. He also has been active in the Palo
Alto Area Bar Association, was chair of its Legislation Committee
and a member of the Association's benefit golf tournament committee.
In addition, Terry is a former board member and President of the
Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce, and a former board member of the
Santa Clara University
Law School Alumni Association.
