Stewart practices in the areas of estate planning and trust law, trust and probate administration, and estate and trust litigation. As an estate planner, Stewart assists families and individuals with goals such as wealth succession, tax minimization, devices for charitable giving, the creation of special needs trusts, and the resolution of planning issues with an international component. He also advises personal representatives and beneficiaries in proceedings in counties throughout the Bay Area and in Southern California. Stewart's litigation experience includes controversies in state and federal courts, as well as alternative dispute resolution proceedings (arbitration and mediation).
Stewart is a 2000 graduate of Harvard Law School (magna cum laude) and a 1995 graduate of Stanford University (with honors). He has been admitted to California state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the District of Northern California. Stewart also teaches estate planning courses at a local law school. |
